ODABR is een Oracle utility voor het maken van LVM snapshots op de ODA's.
Deze tool wordt niet standaard geïnstalleerd.
Informatie over deze utility, inclusief download info met betrekking tot de laatste versie vind je in Oracle Support Document 2466177.1.
De tool biedt een aantal mogelijkheden maar ik beperk mij tot de -snap optie, dit is de recommended functionality. Ik ben van mening dat de lokale filesystemen niet kritische informatie bevat.
De installatie is straightforward en kan via RPM worden gedaan, bijvoorbeeld:
[root@ab038 ~]# rpm -Uvh /u01/nfs_backup/odabr-2.0.1-71.noarch.rpm
